Milling of a tread at the Villa d’Or workshop
For some staircase models, the height of the treads can be adapted (diminished) by milling with several millimeters. This in order to obtain the exact height between the two finished floors. This process can be done with most models containing one baluster per tread, like Bordeaux, Paris, Dijon, Saint-Tropez and Mirecourt (the version with 14 steps to the circle). It depends per model with how many millimeters the height can be lowered.
